X Box 360 Microsoft's Contender

There's no doubt Microsoft has matured rapidly from wanna-be to potential champion of the home console arena. Despite the inital doom and gloom, poor sales and seemingly tepid game releases, the X-Box managed to climb its way to a distinguished 2nd place.

That said, there's no silver award in the ultimate race... gold is what counts! Microsoft is not a company to be toyed with however, and even though it only managed to gradually encroach on Sony's market, it has now moved up to the position of the "new kid on the block". The X-Box 360 has been launched almost a year before Sony's next-generatoion offering, and allready has exceeded market expectations.

Sure the X-Box 360 is not exactly a hardware or software breakthrough, but at the end of the day, the quality of the games and the gaming experience is what counts. Despite Sony's PlayStation 3 architectural innovations, the real battle will be fought over the quality of the games.

Either way, for the consumer, it's only good news... as two of the largest software/hardware/home entertainment companies in the world slug it out will only bring one thing: better games, better entertainment...

Blu ray discs aren't shit, they are the next evolution of compact disc technology. they uses a smaller laser that makes it able to hold 10 times more than a DVD, hence PS3 doesnt need to cut corners to fit a game into a 4.7 gig dvd like the xbox 360 does. what else, the PS3 is running a single fast processor where xbox 360 is running 3 slower ones which means when running harder the xbox 360 will over heat faster than the ps3. Connectivity is key with these 2 consoles. The xbox 360 has hardly any connectivity apart from linking up to Windows vista to be used as a media center. unfortunately if u dont have vista u cant use this. PS3 as it comes is a media center, it can hold videos, link up directly to any usb device including mouses, keyboards, flash drives and cameras so u can upload ur photos directly to the hard disk on the PS3. also running an internet connection not just for playing online games but for browsing the internet and using Playstaions game 'Home' create a 3d version of yourself and chat to others online and from there add them to games ur playing. the games will be better as the controller is better, it uses a sixaxis motion sensor function which links upto to driving games, using the controller as a steering wheel,shooting games with melee attacks. well thats my banter hope its opened ur xbox 360 minds
